Degassing, Degreasing & Decontamination — Hot Work Preparation
Safe hot work starts well before the first spark. Welding, cutting, grinding, and any other ignition-risk activity demand that tanks, vessels, and process equipment are fully cleared of flammable vapors, combustible residues, and toxic contaminants before work begins. Skipping or rushing this step is not an option — the consequences are catastrophic.
At Tanqeb, we deliver comprehensive hot work preparation services that render your equipment safe for maintenance, repair, modification, or decommissioning. Our certified teams follow stringent industry protocols to eliminate hydrocarbon vapors, sludge, scale, and chemical residues — protecting your personnel, your assets, and your schedule.
What We Do
Degassing
Flammable and hazardous gases trapped in tanks, pressure vessels, pipelines, and process equipment present an immediate ignition risk. Tanqeb removes these vapors using proven ventilation, inert gas purging, and steam cleaning techniques, with continuous atmospheric monitoring to confirm Lower Explosive Limit (LEL) readings remain within safe thresholds throughout the operation.
Applicable equipment includes crude oil tanks, fuel storage vessels, chemical reactors, and production separators.
Degreasing
Oil films, grease, and hydrocarbon residues on internal surfaces can ignite during hot work or compromise subsequent inspection and repair processes. We apply targeted industrial degreasing methods — including hot water washing, steam cleaning, solvent application, and detergent-based circulation — to fully remove all combustible surface residues. Equipment is left clean and ready for hot work or NDT inspection.
Decontamination
Where toxic, corrosive, or environmentally hazardous materials are present, thorough decontamination is essential before any personnel entry or hot work authorization. Tanqeb neutralizes and removes harmful substances including H₂S, benzene, lead compounds, and chemical process residues. All contaminated wash waters and waste materials are managed in full compliance with environmental regulations.
